Solar Incentives in Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Renewable Energy Fund provides up to $5,000 for micro businesses wanting to install solar, or up to $75,000 for commercial solar projects.

Rhode Island’s Department of Energy Management offers the RI Agricultural Energy grant program in partnership with the Office of Energy Resources. This incentive offers up to $20,000 for eligible renewable energy systems, including solar photovoltaic systems.

A commercial PACE financing program is available in Rhode Island to businesses willing to install solar power. The program offers solar loans that businesses can repay through installments added to their property taxes, allowing you to spread your payment out over up to 25 years.

The USDA's "Rural Energy for America Program," or “REAP,” offers a grant designed to encourage agricultural and rural businesses to maximize their energy efficiency with solar.
